Safety in child care
Safety plays a very important role in child care. It allows children to explore, play, and learn confidently. Educators are responsible for keeping the environment safe through daily inspections, supervision, and safety drills.

The Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA, 2014) provides clear guidelines for safety in child care centres. For toddlers (ages 18 months to 2.5 years), the required staff-to-child ratio is 1:5.
